How to use an FTP client

A FTP Client is a software tool designed to help transfer files back-and-forth between two computers over the Internet. It needs to be installed on your computer and can only be used with a live connection to the Internet. A popular free ftp client is Filezilla. Find this software in our download center or using Sourceforge.net by searching Filezilla. It is open source and free. Once the software has been installed, it will require information about your hosting package to connect to the server enabling you to send files to and from your local computer storage and the server. Access credentials for your FTP client are located in the “New Account Information” email you received when signing up for Unix Commerce Hosting. For more information and guidance, submit a support ticket or give us a call.
